By Yosun Chang · Photo and videoWhy we expect it: Clear value and transparent credit terms make this photo-to-3D idea easy to understand and appealing.
In short
APERTURE AI3D turns a selected photo into a 3D Gaussian-splat space that can be orbited and zoomed on an iPhone, then placed on a real floor or table in augmented reality. It is for people who want to explore a photo as a navigable 3D scene. One notable point is that the selected image is uploaded to AI3D's generation service, and creating a space requires a network connection.

Turn a photo into a space.
APERTURE transforms a selected photo into a Gaussian-splat 3D reconstruction you can explore from your iPhone. Orbit and zoom around your space, then place it on a real floor or table with augmented reality. Adjust its size and see its appearance adapt to your room’s lighting.
Choose a photo or take a new one. With your permission, Aperture uploads the selected image to AI3D’s TripoSplat generation service. A network connection is required to create a space, and results depend on your photo.
Your first successful generation is free. Additional generations use consumable credits purchased through Apple’s In-App Purchase. One credit creates one space. Unused credits do not expire and are stored on the purchasing iPhone; they do not transfer to other devices. No subscription is required. Confirmed failed generations keep their credit, and interrupted requests can be retried.
AR placement requires a supported physical iPhone.
