Rillbank SF2 Samples

Get the original samples out of your SoundFont banks.

Rillbank helps producers and sound designers inspect an owned SF2 bank, listen to its raw sample recordings and extract the ones they need as real WAV files. No replay-and-record step, subscription or account.

HEAR AND CHOOSE Import through Files. Browse original sample headers, filter by name, star useful recordings and inspect which presets reference them. The large waveform shows the declared loop span. Audition at the recorded rate or repeat just that loop region, at a volume you control. iPad gives the sample list and waveform their own working areas.

ORIGINAL AUDIO Extract selected headers to mono PCM16 or PCM24 WAVs without gain changes, trimming, resampling or tuning. Valid sample-header loop bounds and MIDI root are written as WAV smpl markers. Stereo-linked headers remain separate left/right mono assets with link metadata; they are not merged. Host marker support varies.

TAKE A COMPLETE HANDOFF Share individual files or a ZIP containing selected WAVs, a complete sample CSV, preset membership CSV, PDF review, unchanged original SF2, a restorable JSON backup and SHA256 checksums. Name banks, save selection and stars, and record notes. JSON restore preserves source and choices under a new bank ID.

LOCAL BY DESIGN One purchase. No ads, subscriptions, sign-in, tracking, analytics or app network requests. Your library starts empty; an optional original analytic tone study demonstrates the workflow. No third-party instrument bank is bundled. Keep exported backups before deleting banks or uninstalling. Shared packets contain your source bank and notes; extract only materials you own or have permission to use.

SUPPORTED Uncompressed SoundFont 2.00–2.04 with embedded signed PCM16, or valid SF2 2.04 sm24 PCM24. Up to 64 MiB per source, 512 sample headers, 256 presets, 1,024 instruments and 16,384 zones per hierarchy. Printable ASCII object names. Source rates 400–192,000 Hz. Save 12 banks within 128 MiB of originals; restore JSON up to 96 MiB. Invalid sm24 falls back to original PCM16 with an explicit warning, as specified by SF2.

Rillbank extracts raw sample-header spans. It does not synthesize preset envelopes, filters, modulation, tuning, pan or generator offsets. Preset membership is structural reference information, not an effective key map. Declared loops may be disabled by the original preset. Pitch correction is recorded in CSV and is not rendered. No SF3/compressed banks, ROM samples, SFZ/DLS, bank editing, sample processing, playable keyboard, MIDI, AUv3 or recording.
