Sun Path: Point & Plan
Not claimedFind the light before you get there
By WILLIAM BENJAMIN BURRARD-LUCAS · Photo and videoWhy we expect it: Clear value, honest limitations, offline support and a useful AR sun path make this a strong debut for photographers.
In short
Sun Path: Point & Plan is a photo-video app for planning shoots around the sun's position. It shows the sun's predicted path in AR on iPhone, a sun dial and map for any chosen place, and sunrise, sunset, and golden and blue hour times. Calculations run on the device, and saved places stay on the device without an account.

Find the light before you get there.
Sun Path helps you plan photographs, explore the light around your home, or choose the right time to visit a place. See the sun's direction and height, check sunrise and sunset, and explore how the light changes through the day.
SEE THE SUN IN AR Open View in AR and point your iPhone at the landscape. Follow the sun's predicted path across the sky, change the date or time, and see where it will be. AR always uses your current physical location, while your plan for another place stays ready when you return.
PLAN ANYWHERE Use your location, search for a place, choose a point on the map, or enter coordinates. Explore a clear sun dial or a north-up map, then move through the local day with the time slider.
FIND GOLDEN AND BLUE HOUR See sunrise, sunset, solar noon, daylight duration, and the rising and falling golden- and blue-hour periods. Tap an event to explore the sun at that moment. Times follow the selected place's timezone, including daylight-saving changes.
KEEP YOUR PLACES Save locations with names and notes, return to them later, and share a labelled image of your plan. You can also share an AR image from the camera view.
USEFUL OFFLINE Sun calculations run on your iPhone. The sun dial, saved places and manual coordinates with a confirmed timezone work offline. Maps, place search and automatic timezone lookup need a connection.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, advertising, analytics service or subscription. Saved places stay on your device and may be included in its normal backups. Camera images are only captured when you choose to share one.
Sun Path predicts astronomical sun positions. Hills, buildings, clouds and weather can change the light you actually see. AR needs a supported iPhone with a compass, camera and location access; alignment depends on tracking and sensor conditions. The planner remains available when AR is unavailable.
