Di Alessio Rossi · Foto e videoIn breve
TLR-66 turns the folded iPhone Duo into a twin-lens style camera, with the lower display as a square waist-level viewfinder and the upper display as a settings panel. It is aimed at photographers who prefer slow, deliberate square compositions, offering five emulsion looks and a volume-button shutter. A standout detail is that every frame is developed at the moment of capture rather than edited afterwards.

TLR-66 turns the fold of iPhone Duo into the body of a camera.
Fold iPhone Duo to 90° (~120° in hand for optimal viewing) and the hinge stops being a hinge: the lower display becomes a waist-level viewfinder, framed square and lit only where the image sits, the way a medium-format twin-lens reflex frames a scene from above. The upper display becomes a dashboard: shutter speed, aperture, frame counter, focal length and emulsion, always in view while your eyes stay on the frame. The volume buttons release the shutter, so you never have to touch the screen to take the shot.
TLR-66 is not a filter pack bolted onto the system camera. It is a dedicated instrument, built for a slower, more deliberate way of composing: a two-handed cradle grip at chest or waist height, eyes down, one square frame at a time.
**WHAT'S IN THE BODY** - A fixed 1:1 frame, the way a 6×6 medium-format twin-lens reflex sees the world. - A ground-glass viewfinder with a focus loupe for critical sharpness, a choice of reticle, and an electronic level outside the frame. - A shutter-speed dial from 1" to 1/500, or AUTO. With a speed set, the ISO follows automatically. - Three medium-format focal lengths: 55, 80 and 135 mm, about 30, 44 and 74 mm in 35 mm terms. - A 12-frame roll, so a session ends and starts again like loading a fresh reel. - Leaf-shutter, lens and dial sounds, each of which can be switched off.
**FIVE PROPRIETARY EMULSIONS** Every frame is developed at the moment of exposure, not afterwards - choosing an emulsion is like loading a roll of film, not applying a filter you can undo later. - SILVER 66 - fine-grain black-and-white with deep blacks and soft highlights, built for reportage. - P-DUO 160 - soft colour with lifted shadows and warm skin tones, built for portraits. - CHROMA 100 - saturated, high-contrast colour-reversal look. - URBAN NOIR - high-contrast black-and-white for hard-light street photography. - NATURAL - a neutral, uninterpreted HEIF rendering, with no tone curve and no grain.
**EXPORT** Every frame and contact print is saved as HEIF, with a JPEG fallback only where HEIF can't be encoded. Choose the clean 1:1 frame, or a Contact Sheet Card that prints the shot's technical data - focal length, shutter speed, aperture, ISO and profile - into the border, the way a contact print carries its negative's data.
**PRIVATE BY DESIGN** TLR-66 works entirely offline. It carries no telemetry, no tracking libraries and no advertising SDKs. It writes only to its own "TLR-66" album in your photo library, and never reads, changes or deletes anything else already there.
**ONE INSTRUMENT, ONE PRICE** TLR-66 is a one-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account.
TLR-66 runs on every iPhone. On a non-folding iPhone, dashboard and viewfinder share a single screen, in the same 1:1 format, with the same emulsions, the same 12-frame roll and the same physical shutter button - you lose the waist-level view, not the instrument. TLR-66 is built around iPhone Duo, and is at its best there.
